Office Area - BETA now available


I've decided to upload a BETA version of the game that has all the new stuff, mainly the new OfficeArea that I've been working on :D   It still is very WorkInProgress, but can hopefully be entirely played all to the Wolf King Boss! Again, you might encounter several bugs or missing features and such, but it is precisely because I have yet to finish and this is a BETA version launch.

To instantly start in the DarkHallway, right next to the OfficeArea, after DrK's Laser Room, I've put a button in the Main Menu that is called "OfficeAreaStart", click it and you will be on your way to meet Puro's friendly "friends" (The Dark Latex Monsters).

Here are some known bugs and missing features:

- Most transfurs are missing, some of which are:

    * Werewolf Injection Transfur (Has dialogue and sequence implemented, but no 3D models nor animations)

    * Crystal Mask Transfur (Has dialogue and sequence implemented, but no 3D models nor animations)

    * Black Latex Floor Spike Transfur

    * Wolf King Transfur #1 and #2

    * Dark Latex Shadow (The Dark Latex Jar that comes down on your head, from the Wolf King's "shadow friends" that appear on the floor during the battle)

Note: custom Transfurred dialogues and interactions are not fully implemented yet! (Though some are implemented...)

- "LookAt" function kind of breaks when you see a photo, leave it immediately and try to move.

- Missing cinematic introduction for the Wolf King

- Might get transfurred without being able to move if you try to run from OfficeStart to OfficeHallway#1 and get the dialogue of "able to sneak in maybe feasible".

Yes! Hello! Sorry, been busy lately, but not inactive!

So, I've finished the Office transfurs, implemented most suggestions, fixed bugs, added content, and more! It is pretty much finished.

The update is actually ready, but I haven't launched it because I wanted to improve it a little bit, because I am not satisfied with some transfurs and stuff, though in the last days I've had kind of writers block, and it was pretty hard to work in those things. I'm thinking if I should launch the update or not, probably yes, even if it's not perfect.

Oh, hell, am I a little too anxious? I haven't seen you send any logs for a few days, so I feel a little uncomfortable. Never mind, I just because so far, no one can make enough fan games that I like and have their own innovations.

There is a problem with the BETA version of the ventilation pipe fence map, which brings up the black block when it is opened.

I always feel that the office seems a little narrow. Is it my illusion or is it caused by proportion and visual reasons ?

There is a camera bug. When you step on a chair that falls to the ground, your character's angle of view will be too high when you come down, and so will the suspected model. The trigger is not affected.It is suggested that you should not step on the chair directly, or make corresponding repairs.

But please note that the yellow box from the password device in the first act also has this problem.

These suggestions are not very important, but I hope they can be realized in the future.

After being transformed, it will not be limited to one room, and you can go to any room. This will also be more interactive and interesting.

After the transformation, some changes have a second transformation, which is very difficult, but I feel it will be very interesting.

I hope that some latex can be cashed out, for example, it can be drilled into ventilation pipes, but not through doors. Stepping on the same latex moves faster.

I have an interesting idea. I used to jump, but now I can't, right? So what interesting thing happens when latex can't jump and you can jump? Especially when you change, as the only latex that can jump, how interesting would it be? Of course, this can be used as a fun mode through all levels.Or as a reward, or hide the existence of painted egg.

OK, calm down, haha, I am glad you like this project! But this will take me time to complete, especially when there are many parts of the original game and I haven't even completed the OfficeArea (missing transfurs, bugs, etc., in development). Plus, it takes me additional time to fix all the bugs and implement new features. I am still working on the Transfurs of the OfficeArea, I'll try to fix as many bugs as possible.

Answering some of your questions:

- Every level of the original game I've tried to be as precise as possible in recreating it in 3D, and some levels, like the OfficeArea or the Cat's Place ends up with very weird proportions that I must slightly re-adapt. There is a big gap of reality and perspective between top-down 2D levels and 3D first person levels, so in some degree it is proportions and visual reasons.

- I've thought before about a Fusions system, which consists of a latex monster trying to fuse with another specific monster (a case would be White Knight Centaur + Living Milk Pudding), and I am not sure if the system is hard to create or not. The only thing that would be hard for me is creating the additional 3D models, animations and setting each individual Fusion up, and cleaning up the bugs that it would create.

- A system to be able to enter ventilation as a monster is not a bad idea at all, as well as moving faster on the same latex, maybe on the near future I will develop it!

- Discord... I am not an extroverted person to be talking to everyone in live, but maybe??

Even though I do not post daily Dev logs, I am still working on the game most probably every day, I just upload a Dev log when there is significant progress or there is a special achievement.

So, be calm! I am still working on the game, I'm making the OfficeArea transfurs and I will try to fix every bug possible, as those you've mentioned. Do bear in mind that, considering the quality I demand myself, and being the sole developer of the game, this project is quite the task to tackle, especially in terms of time.

can you make a multiplayer for changed 3d and for development

I have thought of it, and the game's internal structure is kind of thought out for multiplayer, but it would require me to halt development of the Campaign and be forced to think of gamemodes, develop and investigate Online subsystems and interactions, develop new maps, and fix dozens of errors. Now's not the right time.

But in the future... maybe! Like I said, the game's internal structure is kind of thought out for multiplayer, but not specifically developed for it.

I thought of VR, but the way I'd like to develop it would mean too much change in the game's core structure.

Unless... if I were to only affect the view, that would be less impactful in the game's core structure. I will think about it in the future :)

I'm glad you took my advice and released a BETA version of the game, now here are some new suggestions I came up with after playing the current version over and over again, but of course, this has nothing to do with the BETA version. As well as these suggestions may seem a bit tedious.

1. In the first act, when opening the password door, it is suggested to add a dialog box, which is also a hint and gives the player a reaction time, the subtitle can be like this "! Run! Suggest adding bold red letters.

2. see someone said do not know how to stay away from the cat, thought about it, think we can retain the original CHANGED prompt, while prompted to listen to the cat's voice

Tip: In addition, when the box falls, I also suggest adding a dialog box to remind, this is to take care of have not played CHANGED

3. I want more save space, 3 does not seem to be enough

So, this is what I think about the transformation of Colin interaction, because it's not too important and will aggravate your workload, so I'll put it here

1. after the transformation, I hope the hands are not all in front of the chest, it is best to run in line with Colin's movements, if you want to reflect the surprise of the transformation, you can do a review of the hand movements, and then look down the camera to their bodies, and I do not want to fix the view of the head and body together, after all, sometimes want to see their furry tails (after all, the 3D model you made is not delicate, but great)

2. I would love to see different variations of Colin moving around the game, but it would take a lot of work, so that's just my wish. I know how hard it is to write this story, but I think you can do it.

Do be weary that I am trying my best to understand you by translating your comment, because I don't know the chinese language, hehe, and it's hard for me sometimes to even understand the translation.

So, then, I will add more TIPS, make better transfur animations and designs of it, fix the orientation of the third person camera so the player is able to fully see the 3D monster model, and add more Save space to 100 (I agree, it's not enough, I will put this as high priority and figure out a way to make it to 100 Save slots).

Ah, sorry, I had finished the translation, but something seems to have gone wrong and the display is in Chinese, sorry!

Some questions about the BETA version.

The second female latex that judgment space seems to be a little small, I tried several times because I stepped on the ground black latex and could not pass, resulting in my being transformed black latex.

I found a way to get through, but that was only for me, the second room of the office SAVE mechanical advice to move some towards the outside, I tried many times can not successfully SAVE

The black latex judgment point on the ground is indeed a bit large, the second office, around the circle of black latex recommended circle a bit larger, the middle gap is easy to hit the latex

Office bathroom there, luring black latex wolves for a short time, before you go out black latex wolves have wrapped around you and will transform you. I am now stuck there, trying many times to no avail,I succeeded after many attempts, but the time was too short.

TIP: I think after completing the Dragon King, you might want to stop and optimize the front part, the Dragon King is the midpoint of the first half of the 3 endings inside. And the experience is already quite complete.

Thank you for the feedback, it truly is a gateway to improving the game!

So, what I am getting mostly here is that the Office area's difficulty balance is somewhat wrong, and needs to be balanced: big Dark Latex Puddles that are hard to go around, Dark Latex Monsters getting you too easily because they leave too little space, Bathroom monsters getting out too quick... I will get my hands working on the balance then, because it is not too much work because it is only modifying some variables that determine the difficulty.

As soon as I consider the Office Area stable and ready for release, I will continue to work towards the Dragon King Boss! (though, is it not a Dragon Queen? It seemed to me that it was a female on the original game...).

And yes, from all the modelling, the code, the balancing, etc., etc. that I've done until now, I might want to optimize, to upgrade,  the game to have better 3D models, sounds, design, etc. when I reach the development of the Dragon Boss.

I am most glad you are enjoying the experience thus far, this project is very hard to develop!
